ITINERARY
Day 1: Arrival in Almaty – The Gateway of the Silk Road
Welcome to Kazakhstan! Upon your arrival at Almaty International Airport, your private guide and driver will meet you for a comfortable transfer to your hotel. To kick off your journey, we’ll ascend Kok Tobe Hill via cable car to enjoy a sweeping panoramic view of the city as the sun sets. Enjoy a welcome dinner before retiring to your premium 4-star accommodation.
Day 2: Shymbulak Heights & Almaty’s Living History
After a hearty breakfast, we head to the Shymbulak ski base, where you’ll take a cable car up to the Talgar Pass at 3,200m to witness the stunning, snow-capped Tian Shan mountains. In the afternoon, dive into Almaty’s soul with visits to the Central State Museum, the vibrant Green Bazaar, and the Zenkov Cathedral—one of the world's tallest wooden buildings—located within the serene Panfilov Park.
Day 3: Charyn Canyon – The Valley of Castles
Leave the city behind for a 300km journey to the legendary Charyn Canyon, a natural monument of sedimentary rocks aged over 12 million years. Marvel at the "Valley of Castles," where wind and water have carved surreal formations that rival the Grand Canyon in beauty. After exploring the canyon floor, we continue to the peaceful Saty village for a traditional dinner and overnight stay.
Day 4: Kolsai Lakes & Crossing into Kyrgyzstan
Spend your morning at the "Pearls of the Northern Tian Shan"—the Kolsai Lakes. Enjoy a tranquil walk around the crystal-clear waters, absorbing the silence of the surrounding pine forests. There are also options to do horse riding and kayaking around the lake area. After lunch, we begin our drive to the Kegen border to cross into Kyrgyzstan, arriving in the historic mountain town of Karakol for a restful evening.
Day 5: The South Shore & A Night in a Nomadic Yurt
Explore Karakol’s cultural tapestry at the Dungan Mosque and the Holy Trinity Orthodox Church before heading along the stunning Southern Shore of Issyk Kul Lake. Stop at Jeti-Oguz (Seven Bulls) to see its iconic red rock formations and explore the whimsical, wind-swept "fairytale" landscapes of Skazka Canyon. Tonight, experience the ultimate nomadic highlight: a night of stargazing and traditional hospitality in a cozy yurt camp at Tosor.
Day 6: The Burana Tower & The Heart of Bishkek
After breakfast in the wild, we drive toward the Kyrgyz capital, Bishkek. En route, we visit a eagle hunting village before heading to the 11th-century Burana Tower, a lonely sentinel marking the ancient Silk Road city of Balasagun. Upon reaching Bishkek, check into your 4-star hotel and enjoy an evening at leisure in this vibrant, green-filled city.
Day 7: Ala Archa National Park & Urban Discovery
Head into the alpine wilderness of Ala Archa National Park for a scenic morning hike along the rushing river, surrounded by jagged peaks and juniper forests. We return to the city for a cultural finale: browsing the sprawling Osh Bazaar for spices and felt crafts, followed by a visit to the grand Ala-Too Square and the Manas Monument.
Day 8: Farewell to Central Asia
After a final Kyrgyz breakfast and a relaxed morning for last-minute souvenir shopping, your private driver will transfer you to the airport for your departure flight. You’ll head home with the spirit of the steppe and memories of the Great Silk Road.
