ITINERARY

Day 1: Surabaya to Ranu Pani – The Adventure Begins

Your expedition begins upon flight arrival in Surabaya, where you will be met by our team. You will be transferred by a private, air-conditioned vehicle to the Sukapura area in the Bromo foothills (approx. 3-hour drive). Here, the paved road ends, and the real adventure begins. You will switch to a private 4WD Jeep for the rugged, 1.5-hour journey to Ranu Pani (2,100m), the last village and the official starting point for the Mount Semeru trek. You will check into a basic local guest house for an early night to rest and acclimatize to the altitude before your trek.

Day 2: Trek to Ranu Kumbolo (Lake in the Clouds) (B, L, D)

At 7:00 AM, after breakfast and a final check, you will register at the park entrance gate and officially begin your trek. The hike to Ranu Kumbolo takes approximately 6 hours, winding through lush mountain forests and ascending into the high-altitude landscape. Your reward is the breathtaking sight of Ranu Kumbolo, a stunning crater lake nestled at 2,400m.

Upon arrival, your dedicated porter team will have your camp set up. You can relax and soak in the incredible alpine scenery as your team prepares a hot lunch. Enjoy a hearty, freshly cooked dinner under a brilliant blanket of stars in the cool mountain air.

Day 3: Ranu Kumbolo Sunrise & The Grand Traverse to Bromo Viewpoint (B, L, D)

Wake before dawn for one of the trek's most magical moments: a spectacular sunrise over the tranquil, mirror-like surface of Ranu Kumbolo. After a hot breakfast and packing up camp (around 10:00 AM), you will begin the hike back down to Ranu Pani (approx. 4-5 hours).

After a short rest, you'll embark on the day's main challenge: the 3-hour traverse hiking from Ranu Pani to the Bromo Crater. You will hike across the vast volcanic desert known as the "Sea of Sands" and ascend to the crater rim to witness a rare and spectacular sunset over the active volcano.

As dusk falls, you'll begin the final, strenuous 3-hour ascent from the caldera floor up to Perahu Hill (Camping Ground Perahu Hill). This is a high viewpoint on the caldera’s northern rim, not the crater itself. You will arrive at your private campsite, where your team awaits with a well-deserved hot dinner.

Day 4: Bromo Sunrise Panorama & Return to Surabaya (B)

Your final reward is waking up at your exclusive campsite for the legendary Bromo sunrise. From your viewpoint, you will have a front-row seat to the entire Bromo landscape—the smoking crater, the sculpted Mount Batok, the vast Sea of Sands, and the towering peak of Mount Semeru in the far distance—all illuminated by the first light of day.

Around 9:00 AM, after a final camp breakfast, you will pack up and begin the hike down to the Seruni Point parking area. Here, you will meet your private driver, who will transfer you back to Surabaya (approx. 3-hour drive). You will be dropped off at your hotel or Juanda International Airport (SUB) to conclude your incredible volcanic expedition.
